What each status means

Status	Meaning
Booked	The post office has accepted the article and generated the consignment number.
In Transit	The article is moving between post offices or sorting hubs.
Out for Delivery	The article is with the postman and should arrive today.
Delivered	The article has been handed over at the delivery address.
Delivery Attempted	The postman tried to deliver but could not — the addressee was absent, the premises were locked, or the article was refused.
On Hold	The article is held, for example for customs clearance or at the post office for collection.
Returned to Sender	The article could not be delivered and is on its way back to the sender.

Tips for tracking many consignments

In Excel or Google Sheets, select the column with the numbers, copy it and paste it straight into the box — no formatting needed.

If a newly booked article shows no data, wait a few hours: the first scan can take time to appear. See consignment details not found.

Frequently asked questions

How many Speed Post numbers can I track at once?

Up to 10 India Post consignment numbers per batch. If you paste more, the first 10 are tracked and a "Track next batch" button appears for the rest, so you can work through a long list 10 at a time.

Which India Post numbers does bulk tracking support?

Any 13-character India Post tracking number — 2 letters, 9 digits, 2 letters, such as EE123456789IN. That covers Speed Post, Registered Post, EMS, parcels, and passports, PAN cards and bank cards sent by Speed Post. Private courier numbers (Delhivery, DTDC, Bluedart and others) are not supported here; use our courier trackers instead.

How do I enter multiple consignment numbers?

Paste them into the box in any format — one per line, separated by commas or spaces, or a whole column copied from Excel or Google Sheets. The page picks out every valid number, removes duplicates and ignores other text such as names or dates.

Is bulk Speed Post tracking free?

Yes. It is free, with no signup, no login and no limit on how many batches you run.

Can I download the tracking results to Excel?

Yes. Click "Download CSV" after tracking. The file opens in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice and lists each number with its status, latest event, location, last update, origin, destination, booking date and a tracking link.

How long does bulk tracking take?

Each number is checked live with India Post, three at a time, and results appear one by one as they arrive. Most numbers come back quickly; if India Post is slow, a single number can take up to about 30 seconds.

Why does a number show "No tracking data found"?

Usually the article was booked only a few hours ago and India Post has not uploaded its first scan yet, or a character in the number is wrong. Check the number on your receipt and use Retry after some time.

Can I save or share my list of numbers?

Yes. "Share link" creates a URL that opens this page with the same numbers and tracks them automatically. The page also remembers your last list in this browser, so you can reload it with one click next time.

Do you store the tracking numbers I enter?

No. Numbers are used only to fetch the status from India Post and are not stored on our server. Your last list is kept only in your own browser's local storage, and you can clear it at any time.

Is this the official India Post bulk tracking service?

No. Speed India Post is an independent website and is not affiliated with India Post or the Department of Posts. Statuses come from India Post's tracking system. For complaints or official support, contact India Post at indiapost.gov.in.
